An inspiring reminder of how far we've come

Film review: Suffragette

A cinematic tour de force, Suffragette will have your heart pounding from beginning to end, such is the stirring atmosphere of the womenโ€™s movement in 1912 depicted in this moving story of the fight to win โ€˜Votes for women!โ€™.

With stunning performances by Carey Mulligan and supporting cast Helena Bonham Carter, Anne-Marie Duff and a rousing cameo from Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst, expect an emotional journey of goosebumps, incredulous rage, to deep depair and heartwarming admiration, as the womenโ€™s liberation movementโ€™s heroic journey of last century is brought to life in 2015.

Itโ€™s hard to believe anyone waited this long to tell the suffragettes’ story on the big screen, and itโ€™s an inspiring reminder of how far we have come, what it truly meant to the women who fought for the cause then, and what it means to women living today.
